The team that finds the best solutions for your business
Prof. Dr. Christiane Luible
Christiane was always fascinated by clothing and technology. Already in high school she spent most of her spare time designing and tailoring her own dresses. To perfect her craft she performed an apprenticeship as a woman's tailor. Due to her high skill level she won the 'best tailor apprentice award'. She went on to study fashion design at the Hochschule Pforzheim where she graduated with distinction. Her interest in technology led her to develop a first virtual fashion show as her diploma thesis. This work received widespread attention and was awarded the 'Lucky Strike Junior Design Award'.
Christiane continued on the path of technology in fashion and wrote her PhD thesis at the renowned Miralab in Geneva on the simulation of fabrics and clothes. She published several papers on this topic and gave speeches among others at the Siggraph conference in San Diego.
As a professor Christiane led the fashion and jewellery design program at HEAD Geneva (Haute Ecole d'Art et Design), one of the top schools for fashion design worldwide today.
Christiane stepped down in August 2013 as the head of the fashion program to start Vitryon but stays on the faculty of HEAD as professor.
